Sky and Virgin have had a long relationship that was somewhat soured some years ago when Sky removed the Sky One service from Virgin Media after they could not agree increased charges requested by Sky. Now all this is in the past and the new agreement heralds a bright new dawn in the tie up between the two broadcasters.

The Chief Executive Officer of Virgin Media, Tom Mockridge is quoted as saying “… our customers will be able to watch even more great TV from Sky on more devices as a result of the most extensive agreement ever signed between Virgin Media and Sky. ”

The Chief Executive of Sky, Jeremy Darroch stated: “This agreement builds on our long-standing relationship with Virgin Media, enabling us to deliver our great channels to even more homes across the UK ….”

Virgin Media, now owned by Liberty Global plc who are the biggest international cable company will be part of a multi company offering 25M customers their services across 14 countries. Virgin supplies Telecoms, Media, TV, Cable Broadband and Mobile services across the UK.

Virgin Media is the largest supplier of cable broadband with a high speed network with speeds up to 152MB. On demand TV, TV and subscription services delivered by cable to their TiVo boxes offer an unrivaled media experience.

This new tie up offers Virgin Media customers new access to Sky channels and will allow Virgin Media access to new services for their customers. With BT, the new pretender coming into the TV subscription service, this new agreement may stem the tide of customers moving to this new offering. Apart from the Sky Atlantic service, which means for those many Games of Thrones fans miss out, Call Centre Numbers believe that Virgin Media will have the ability to offer all the Sky channels that Sky have the ability to offer out to other providers. This will certainly mean that Virgin Media and Sky will have unrivaled prominence in the lucrative subscription TV industry.
